The starving Mr. Jobe ordered 10 pizzas for his 62th birthday party (Mr. Jobe isn’t really that old) with only 21 dollars. His three friends Mr. Forrestal, Ms. Lee and Mrs. Hopkin had the same idea and ordered pizza as well. The three friends ordered same number of pizza as each other. But the pizza man, who isn’t so smart, accidentally brought 4 times the amount of pizza Mr. Jobe and his friends ordered and then received 4 times the money.. Then, ten of Mr. Jobe's prized, award-winning pet turkeys gobbled one pizza each. There are 42 pieces left after the turkeys' meal. How much boxes of pizza did Mr. Jobe's friends order each?
The story was very funny and creative, good job! We were very confused when the 21 dollars came in, but we noticed that the price of the pizzas did not matter in the word problem. It was a bit confusing to find the variable in the problem. Eventually, the problem was very well matched to the equation and makes good sense.
We think this equation was very imaginative and funny. This word problem explains how to write the equation and how to solve it. But, some bits were a little hard to understand. I like how you wrote "Mr Jobe's 62nd Birthday". It was funny.
This question is a bit confusing and complicated. You should write the cost and other things that would confuse the reader. You have put too much confusing information.
